When does registration open?

Oct 1st - Nov 15th

When does the season start?

Opening night is February 16th (Presidents Day Weekend) and runs for 10 weeks plus three weeks of playoffs. Every team plays 8 games and has two byes per season.

Each team (except kinder) participates in playoffs. 

Where are the games?

Games are primarily at

·       Alga Norte Park 6565 Alicante Rd, Carlsbad

·       Poinsettia Park 6600 Hidden Valley Rd, Carlsbad
(Baseball & Turf fields)

Where and what time will practice be?

Practice times and locations are up to each coach. We do the best we can to match you up with a team in your area/ school but can not guarantee it.

What equipment do I need?

Cleats (NO METAL CLEATS), mouth guard, solid colored shorts (same as the rest of the team) with no pockets. 

How can I volunteer to coach?

Please fill out the Coach's volunteer form linked above. 

How many players per team?

Nine players per team minimum 

Can my child play on multiple teams?

No. Each player is allowed to only play on one team. Since every season there is a waitlist, we want to allow for as many kids as possible to play.

Can I request a friend? 

We try our best to honor requests, however, this is not a guarantee that this request can be granted. Groups of 3 or more friends will not be placed on the same team unless a parent is willing to be the head coach. 

How much does it cost?

$310. Includes jersey, flags, shorts, picture day which includes a voucher good towards your player's pictures.  

How much and what is the sponsorship fee?

Each team is responsible for finding a local business to sponsor their team for $375. This gives our local businesses a chance to contribute to the community while getting a tax deduction. This fee also keeps your registration costs down. If the team does not find a sponsorship, each team is responsible for splitting the cost by total players.  The business gets a plaque with a picture of the team and the business name is featured on the website. The team can also put the business sponsor name on the back of the jersey at their own discretion and cost. FNL does not customize jerseys. We have recommended vendors under the sponsorship tab of the website.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds of $200 are available until February 1st. After this point no refunds will be issued.

Is the uniform provided?

Jerseys and shorts are included in the registration. They are picked up at a jersey handout night which is also when the sponsorship donation is due. 

Does FNL have extra jerseys on hand?

Unfortunately we do not have extra jerseys on hand. They will need to be ordered separately. Jerseys take approx. 14 days to order and receive.

Are there playoffs? 

Kindergarten does not have playoffs. All other divisions (1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, 5th/6th and 7th/8th grade divisions) have a single elimination playoff tournament after the regular season.  

Please note that we can not accommodate scheduling requests for playoffs (other than coaches with two teams) and most teams will play at least two games a week. 

When will I hear from my coach?

Coaches will get their rosters late January. Coaches will begin contacting players soon thereafter. If you haven’t heard from your coach by January 22nd, 2023, please email and cc

Does every division get a participation medal/trophy?

Kindergarten and 1st/2nd division players ALL receive medals. 3rd/4th, 5th/6th and 7th/8th division players only receive trophies if they earn 1st place in their conference or in playoffs. 

Can my child play if he gets injured and is wearing a cast?


Are dogs allowed on the fields at the games?

For the safety of others, DOGS ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
